My fellow artists out there are well versed in the art of wearing many hats. One of them is the dreaded business one. At least for me. Every now and then I can think clearly about this issue, and when it happens, I typically run with it instead of pondering too long. Here are a few things my head thought of... I've decided to offer a book, something in a keepsake form that carries some of my musings too. (Thanks to all of you here who actually like what I say!) This is the first installment of Layers. It addresses my initial intent, and what goes through my mind as I start. This is triggering more ideas, that will eventually lend itself to more volumes, so stay tuned. You can find it thru blurb, here.
Also in the works, are finally, workshops! Visiting my site will take you to the page of info, and the cities where I have been invited. They are already filling without much promotion on my part, so take a look. These workshops are geared toward offering an intro of how I work, and some of the things I've learned along the way.
Along with all this comes a Process Video! Yes, the companion to my philosophy short film produced by Jeff Dolan. This video will be created by Jerry Mann, awesome photographer from Cleveland. Look for it in the coming months before my workshops begin in April.
Painting wise, I am looking forward to exploring more of my textural fascination in a more intimate way. A quiet experience carrying the weight of my larger work, contained on a small scale. These portraits may start with a likeness, but will likely change into who they want to be.
Social media wise, find me on Facebook, and lately, Ello.co/stanka. Not sure how long FB will work for promotion. They have been getting rather persnickety about things lately. We'll see how that goes.
And finally, please know your presence and support of my work and words mean the world to me. Thank you.
May your holidays, your new year, be filled with peace.
